Egg face
Sometimes I wonder what we won’t try in the name of beauty. Or, should I say, vanity? Of course, there are some things I call going too far (butt implants, anyone? whatever happened to good old fashioned lunches and squats?), but there’s also a lot of DIY seemingly-crazy tricks that I’m willing to try at least once.
Take this homemade facial I tried last week. Very simple. Only one ingredient: egg yolks. You can also use just the whites, but I read (oh, the things on the internet we’ll believe) that the yolks are more moisturizing than their cholestoral-free counterparts. Egg yolks are high in Vitamin A, and the mask tightens as it dries, so it definitely makes you feel like your pores are being scrunched down to microscopic size. This facial is also supposed to be good for healing any blemishes you might have (re: it’ll zap your zits).
So did it work? Actually, I think it did. The only down side is that it proved pretty difficult to take off, but this was a simple, inexpensive homemade mask that’s effective as well. All you do is take one egg, beat it slightly, and brush on, or apply with a cottonball. Good luck, my beauties - if anyone tries this, let me know the results! I’ve read you can also add honey, vitamin E (if you have dry, un-prone to blemishes skin), even oatmeal, to amp up this mask.
Any one else got some crazy beauty treatments to share? I saw on E! News a while back that Dancing with the Stars pretty Karina Smirnoff takes a tablespoon of olive oil on an empty stomach every morning, which she says is supposed to help improve skin, hair, and nails (kinda like fish oil, I guess), and your general digestive health. So I’ve been trying this when I remember. Seem strange? Maybe, but I figure, it can’t hurt - olive oil has lots of great health benefits, even if it’s not helping bump up my beauty.
Would you try it?
